Roadmap 2015 Update

Remember the other day when I wrote about the SWTOR 2015 Roadmap and I said the following,

“Patch 3.2, which I mentioned is slated for April 28th is introducing the Outfit Designer and a continuing story arc on the planet Ziost. Sounds like a pretty major update to me, but April is not Summer.”

What was it that Han Solo once said? Oh yeah, “You know, sometimes I amaze even myself.” It turns out that Ziost is one of the two major updates that was talked about, and it is indeed targeted for April 28th, which of course is Spring and not Summer.

Hey folks,

Did some double and double-double checking. Ziost is indeed one of those big updates and it is currently targeting a spring release. The note of the first update being in the Summer was in error. I let my main man Tait know and he will get it updated shortly. Thanks for the heads up on the discrepancy, good catch!

I’m glad that Eric went an clarified this because I felt like the distinction between expansion, major update, and simple patch was clear as mud. I think I get it now though. Maybe.

Now we just need some details on that Outfit Designer.

  1. Yay, that’s actually really soon!

I’m already happy that we’re getting regular small updates during the course of the year, though. In LotRO (the previous MMO I used to play) everything was pointed towards one big expansion a year with barely anything else happening in between. The SWTOR-way feels a lot more lively. 🙂

    1. I agree, I think they do a pretty good job of delivering decent bits of content throughout the course of a year.

WoW went more than a whole year (sept. 2013 – oct. 2014) without delivering anything new.

  2. I have to say I was surprised to learn that you blog for swtor since I know you through whu and the hpp. You put out great blogs for both games and have made it on to my short list of swtor blogs (mainly the ones in Going Commando’s side bar). To the point of this update, it is refreshing when bioware actually succeeds at clarifying a muddy point.

    1. Hi, thanks for the kind words. Yes, I really enjoy both WoW and SWTOR and actively play both. I’ve been terribly lax when it comes to this blog, but I’m trying to change that. I’m also discovering the myriad of other SWTOR blogs out there, and will update the blogroll here soon.

The Brew Hall is suffering a bit lately, but that’s mainly due to the HPP. I can get lazy and save my topics for that 🙂
