Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider

goo

Looking for something to do this weekend? Might I recommend going for the The Glory of the Orgrimmar Raider achievement. It does not require any heroic kills, and it can be done in flex. Not only is flex easier, but you can run it multiples times in the same week to work on the achievements. All you really need is a group that understands the fights and can communicate with one another. Here are some tips for Hunters to help you snag this beautiful mount.

Immerseus

No More Tears – Defeat Immerseus after killing 10 Tears of the Vale.

The key to this achievement is to keep the Sha Puddles alive when Immerseus respawns. You’ll need ten in all for this achievement. This means rooting them in place, stunning and slowing them down.

What can Hunters do? I proved most useful just killing the adds we weren’t trying to root. Binding Shot and Ice Trap are useful for stuns and slows, but Druids Mages and DKs are going to be far more useful for getting this one done. I’d also recommend Survival for Entrapment.

[EDIT] Rabidclam brought up two good points in the comments. If you spec for Survival and glyph for Explosive Trap for the knockback effect, and use Snake Trap for an additional stun, Hunters can be extremely effective on this achievement.

I’d say this is one of the more difficult ones to get. Don’t be surprised if you bump up against the enrage timer here.

  • Difficulty – Medium/hard
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Fallen Protectors

Go Long – Transfer the Mark of Anguish to at least 5 unique players over a total of 200 yards or more during a single Desperate Measures phase and then defeat the Fallen Protectors.

Best thing to do is organize the raid into two groups, place raid markers the appropriate distance apart and then send each group to one of the markers. Set up a passing rotation, and then Start with He Softfoot since the achievement involves his add.

Hunters don’t bring anything special here other than ranged DPS. This is one of the easiest achievments.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Nourushen

None Shall Pass – Defeat the Amalgam of Corruption without allowing any unleashed corruption to fuse with it.

Very simple here. Don’t have any DPS click on the golden orbs, and then you’ll be golden. You won’t get any small adds. Just DPS the boss and big adds and stay alive.

This is a very easy achievement.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from white to red if you fail.
  • Type – Raid wide

Sha of Pride

Swallow Your Pride – Defeat the Sha of Pride after no player has gained Pride from Manifestations of Pride while Norushen is alive.

It took about three attempts to get this. Nobody can get pride from the big add. He has two abilities Mocking Blast and Last Word. Interrupt the Mocking Blast. For the Last Word make sure that two people with Gift of the Titans are closest to the add when he dies.

In addition to interrupting Mocking Blast, the add can be stunned. I had Counter Shot at the ready, and took Intimidation for the stun.

  • Difficulty – Medium
  • Trackable – Text will turn from white to red if you fail.
  • Type – Raid wide

Galakras

The Immortal Vanguard – Defeat Galakras without having allowed a single friendly NPC to perish in battle.

If you’ve killed Galakras before, you probably have this one already. You pretty much get this just for doing the fight correctly. Don’t let the friendlies die. That’s it.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from white to red if you fail.
  • Type – Raid wide

Iron Juggernaut

Fire in the Hole! – Stomp on 6 superheated Crawler Mines and then defeat the Iron Juggernaut.

This one is all about phase 2. The boss will randomly target a player with a laser and that player will need run the laser over any crawler mines that are out before they are detonated. The challenge will be recognizing you have the laser and identifying the location of the mines. The way our group positions for this fight I usually run into camera angle view issues, making this harder than it should be.

Nothing special for Hunters on this achievement.

  • Difficulty – Medium
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Kor’kron Dark Shaman

Rescue Raiders – Rescue a set of caged prisoners, a group of unwilling combat participants, and Ji Firepaw before defeating the Kor’kron Dark Shaman.

This is one of two achievements that involves raid trash and not the boss. This means you have to be very careful, because if you mess it up, you can’t just wipe and try again. The goal here is not to kill specific npcs. The key is to cc and pull trash in small coordinated groups. Freezing Trap is good for cc. Other than that don’t do any AoE, and definitely take Barrage out of your line up.

  • Difficulty – Medium
  • Trackable – Text will turn from white to red if you fail.
  • Type – Raid wide

Nazgrim

Gamon Will Save Us! – Defeat General Nazgrim while Gamon is alive and participating in the battle.

This is a pretty simple one. Free Gamon and make sure he doesn’t die. You can toss heals on him, but if you do the fight correctly you should have no issues getting the achievement. The only thing to be wary of is when he runs into Rage Fire Chasm he all but yells Leeeeeeeeeeeeeroy as he engages all the trash. Nothing special for Hunters on this one.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from white to red if you fail.
  • Type – Raid wide

Malkorok

Unlimited Potential – Transform a Corrupted Skullsplitter into a Corrupted Amalgamation and then defeat Malkorok.

For this one you need to grab the Corrupted Skullsplitter and drag him to the boss. Our group chose to off-tank him, but cc is an option. Keep the off-tank alive, make sure the add gets hit with Malkorok’s Breath of Y’Shaarj and then dps the add down. Nothing special for Hunters on this one.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Spoils of Pandaria

Criss Cross Complete the Spoils of Pandaria encounter without any raid member defeating both a Mantid and Mogu enemy.

For this one you want to divide your raid into Mantid and Mogu teams. The only real challenge is getting your teams up the chain and over to the other side. If you take too long you’ll run out of time. Nothing special for Hunters here.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Thok

Mega Snail Vs. Giant Dinosaur Open the Thrice-Locked Cage during the Thok the Bloodthirsty encounter, and then allow its inhabitant to feast upon Thok’s corpse once you have defeated the encounter.

There is already a lot going on in this fight, and this encounter just adds to the chaos and prolongs the duration. To unlock the snail you have to kill a jailer, take his key and then unlock the cage. This will spawn another jailer. Kill him and use his key like you normally would. Basically two jailers per phase, and the snail cage requires three keys to open. The snail is a lot like the ones in Throne of the Thunder. It will fixate on someone, so that person will have to kite and avoid it. Once Thok is dead the snail will devour him, and you’ll be one step closer to your mount.

Hunters are good at kiting and we have decent mobility. if needed we’re good candidates to unlock the snail cage. Other than that it’s mostly do this fight as you normally would.

  • Difficulty – Medium/Hard
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

Siegemaser Blackfuse

Lasers and Magnets and Drills! Oh My! Defeat Siegecrafter Blackfuse without destroying each of the following weapons. Deactivated Laser, Deactivated Missile Turrent, Deactivated Electromagnet, Disassembled Crawler Mines.

This will take at least two kills to get. One option is to only destroy one item the first time around, and then go back and don’t destroy that one item the next time. That should give you all four. Hunters are well suited for the conveyor belt. Just make sure you know your target and you’ll do fine. If you want some good tips on how to do the Conveyor Belt as a Hunter check out this post from Kheldul.

  • Difficulty – Medium
  • Trackable – Items will be removed as you get them.
  • Type – Raid wide

Klaxxi Paragon

Now We are the Paragon Defeat the Paragons after assuming the mantle of three different Paragons.

This is a personal achievement and not a raid wide achievement. You’ll need a minimum of three kills to get it. It’s not that hard though. When you kill a Paragon you can click on them to get a special ability. You can get one per fight, and multiple players cannot get the same one, so be sure to coordinate with your raid on who needs what. Also, not all the abilities are available to each role. DPS can get the ability from Kil’ruk, Ka’roz, Skeer, Hisek, Kaz’tik and Rik’kal.

  • Difficulty – Easy
  • Trackable – Items will be removed as you get them
  • Type – Personal

Garrosh

Strike! Kill 18 Kor’kron Warbringers with a single Iron Star and then defeat Garrosh.

This achievement happens during phase one. You need to have 18 warbringers out and dps them down low enough such that an Iron Star will wipe them out. Nothing special for Hunters. Just need to throttle your DPS while healers keep the tanks alive. In general I’ve been given the Engineer assignment, but that has little to do with getting the achievement.

  • Difficulty – Medium
  • Trackable – Text will turn from red to white when you get it.
  • Type – Raid wide

There you have it, the Glory of the Orgrimmar Raid, Hunter edition (sort of). Looking back I think we one shot everything but Immerseus and Sha and Thok. Those there were by far the most difficult. With good coordination and communication you’ll have your mount in no time.

Good Hunting!

  1. While I know it’s a bit late of a reply — hunters are actually really great, if not better than druids for the Immerseus achievement.

While druid entangling roots obviously is enough to handle one, if you time the placements of your Ice Trap, Snake Trap, Glyphed Explosive Trap and Binding Shot well enough; you can keep an entire group of them alive indefinitely, by just constantly knocking em back and reslowing, snaring and stunning em.

    1. Those are excellent points. I think a lot of Hunters (myself included) overlook Snake Trap and Explosive Shot Glyph.

I’m going to add that to the post!
