Regression Night…Almost

“Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row”

Vitas after finally beating Jimmy Connors at the 1979 Masters following sixteen straight losses.

And nobody beats Valhalla seven times in row. A lesson that old Patchwerk learned this weekend (hmm…I seem to remember one-shoting him several times before).

So why did it take so many attempts to get down a boss that we had considered to be on farm status? I really can’t say other than, while people like to boast about how easy these encounters are, there is little room for error and if just a few people fail to do their jobs, it’s a one-way ticket to wipesville.

On a brighter note once we got down Patch we had zero problems with Grobbulus and we one-shot Gluth. Our first guild take down of the zombie eating mutt.

Our raid weekend concluded with Instructor and Gothik going down, also two guild firsts. I know most of you are probably waist deep in Ulduar right now, and Naxx is ancient history. We’ll get there, but for now I must bask in the glory of progress.

We’re transitioning from a 10 to a 25 man raiding guild and it’s not easy.

  1. Ulduar 10 is also giving us fits, but in our defense we've only gone in there three times, and not with our best team.
